To: Richard Pumerantz Ten-X Ammunition, Inc. We have been using the TX-40 Reloading Press and propelling charges to reload 40mm less lethal projectiles. By using the TX-40 system we have been able to increase the number of projectiles fired during training. We were able to increase the number of training shots fired from 4 per year to 12 per year or more for each user without affecting the ready supply of factory ammunition for field use. Additionally, due to the lower cost associated with the use of reloaded training ammunition we have been able to train additional personnel with the 40mm launchers to the point that almost all Patrol Division personnel are now 40mm qualified. The cost savings from using reloaded 40mm training ammunition allowed the department to purchase 6 additional 40mm launchers and deploy them daily in patrol. The increased deployment of 40mm launchers has resulted in their use to resolve situations that might have resulted in serious injuries to suspects or officers were they not available. The reduced cost of 40mm training has definitely resulted in increased officer safety and a reduction of injuries to suspects. Without your TX-40 reloading system this would not have been possible.
